Camping

Camping for swap site holders

Site holders on open sites are permitted to camp with their swap material. Very few of these sites have access to power. Site holders who are in pavilions which are locked at night are permitted to camp in the designated areas just outside the pavilions.

Persons camping on their swap site or in the designated areas outside the pavilions do so at their own risk. DDVVMC Inc accepts no liability for acts of negligence on any swap site.

Camping for non-swap site holders

A designated camp site area is available for people who don’t have a swap site but wish to camp inside the grounds. Entry is via Gate 3, on Glenvale Road just up from Harvey Road towards the Main Gate. Entry will only be available on Friday before the Swap from 8 am - 6:00 pm.

Persons camping in the designated camping area do so at their own risk. DDVVMC Inc accepts no liability for acts of negligence on any camping site.

The camping area at the Swap is controlled by the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland (RASQ) with DDVVMC managing the bookings on behalf of RASQ.

Bookings are essential and payment is required when booking: by Credit Card over the internet or via phone.

PLEASE NOTE: The same as for Swap sites, camping sites will be given a reservation for the next Swap. This will happen later in the year.

Swap tickets must be purchased with camp bookings. A minimum booking of 2 nights will apply.

CAMPING COST: $35.00 per night (includes up to 2 people - $5.00 per night for each additional person.)

SWAP ENTRY COST: $20.00 per adult for Saturday and Sunday of the Swap. (Children 16 or under are free)

There is power available to some sites, however it is not guaranteed and is allocated on a “first in, first served” basis. Campers are responsible for supplying their own electrical leads to access power from multiple power boxes. For yours and others safety, all electrical leads must have Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760 in-service inspection/testing tags attached. Please do not piggy-back via your site, to another.

TOILETS & SHOWERS ARE AVAILABLE WITHIN THE AREA, AS WELL AS THE CATTLE PAVILION CLOSE BY.

FOOD AND DRINKS ARE AVAILABLE ON GROUNDS.

DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED WITHIN THE SWAP GROUNDS. IF YOU HAVE A PET DOG IT MUST REMAIN AT YOUR CAMP SITE AT ALL TIMES. CAMPERS MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR PETS.

You will be allocated a wrist band when checking in. This will enable you to leave the showgrounds facility at any time, and get back in. This will last for the duration of the Swap.
